Bob's Boots Review: Along with ‘By The Waterfront Docks’, an absolutely astounding sound quality recording and an outstanding performance. It's worth getting for the performance of Desolation Row alone. That's not to say that the rest of the performance isn't top notch... it is. The bonus track appears on ‘By The Waterfront Docks’, but I think that's because this release was in production before TMR was planning the release of the full Hamburg shows (hence the earlier catalog number). Nonetheless, another fine release from TMR, and highly recommended.

Bob's Boots Review: An excellent, very upfront and powerful recording. Sounds like an audience, but could easily be a soundboard. A remarkable performance by Bob, who sings like a man possessed. He is fully in control of the circus. The show is amazing throughout. Bob's voice is startlingly lucid, and the band is simply inspired. The Jaw dropping renditions of Hard Rain and Not Dark Yet are beautifully narrated. This guitar drenched version of Positively 4th Street makes it one of the most exciting tracks, but the obvious highlight is the bonus track. Sam Cooke's A Change Is Gonna Come is taken from the soundboard recording of a TV Special, and is the only known Dylan performance of the song. Ultimately it is THE song to have in your collection. The crown jewel among the highlights of the 2004 tour, I could go as far as to say that this is probably one of the best live CDs I've ever heard.

Bob's Boots Review: This wonderful Japanese release is a great sounding audience recording that was taken from close up to the mains. It sounds like a board tape for the most part. The vocals are strong and up front. The music mix is perfect. This primarily acoustic show is beautiful. This is an incredible set for those who prefer the laid back side of Dylan. Even the electric tunes are soft and mellow performances. The highlights include Tears Of Rage with harmonies reminiscent of The Band, and a powerful Love Sick, among many others. Knockin' On Heaven's Door is a beautiful rendition, but Bob's mic dropped out of the mains. It's unforgiveable that it took the crew the entire performance to repair it. Boblinks Concert Review

Auburn Hills, Michigan
Palace of Auburn Hills
November 2, 2006
Review by Eric Shaver
Just a few words about the Dylan show last night in Auburn Hills. I thought the three he did off Modern Times were fantastic. That album is so good I wouldn't mind if he played every song off it. For me Nettie Moore was the highlight of the new stuff. Much better live, there's just no comparison. I love Highwater and the new arrangement rocked. This is one of my favorite Bob songs. Another one that's taken on new life is Cold Irons Bound. This arrangement blow away the album version, and in my opinion, might have been the best arrangement of any last night. This is one cool band. I was pleasantly surpised with Stuck Inside a Mobile, it was crisply played and well sung. Haven't heard Tangled in a while and it was very good a well. Also got a kick out of the kind of jazzed up Til I Fell In Love With You. Only a couple that I thought were subpar, Visions of Johanna, and Positively 4th Street. Bob seemed to squeeze all the words together on Visions. I've definately heard better versions if this one. The encore was the standard two, with the newly added Thunder on the Mountain which held its own, and is a nice addition. All in all a really good show. And I'd like to thank the Foo Fighters for playing an ass kicking set opening for Bob. Had never seen them before and I thought they were great. That's it for now, enjoy Bob when he's gets to your town.

Bob's Boots Review: Fantastic quality recording of one of the very best shows of the year. This show is an essential addition to any collection. The packaging includes a front cover photo of Dylan in the blue stage flood lights. We call these few Crystal Cat releases the "blue releases". There is also a nice review taken from boblinks written by Michael Smith. Many manufacturers use the contributions to boblinks in their packages without credit. It's nice to see that the Cat has the integrity to give credit to the author. Highly recommended. Boblinks concert review

Bob's Boots Review: This is about as good as it gets, audio wise, as is evident by the many releases of this show. All ages catch Bob (TMR)---All ages Catch Dylan (Mainstream) --He is the Man (Rattlesnake) and this one here from the Wolf. They are all soundboard except for TMR. The soundboard for this show is simply flawless. Not only is the sound exquisite, but Bob and the band are brilliant. Dylan bends and drags his words as only he can do. The band is tight and keeps up beautifully with Bob’s driving vocals. This recording prooves just what a force that Dylan and his band are. All of the labels were smart to leave off bonus tracks, for anything from 2002 would pale horribly on the same disc as this show.

Bob's Boots Review: This is a powerful performance captured sublimely by Rattlesnake. They have been shut down a few times, and it really is good to see them back with a handful of new releases. They are re-establishing themselves as a top act in providing incredible performances. What first hit me was the incredible spaced-out Cold Irons Bound. Werewolf Bob is howling his heart out above echoing guitar…It Ain't Me Babe is gorgeously re-invented, and the reconstruction reduces the audience to twinkles, giggles and coos… quite amazing! Bob is always searching for different ways to tell the same story. On Just like a Woman he invites the audience to participate, which strangely, they seem reluctant to do. Honest With Me is a relentless boogie/jam. However, it's the anarchic excursions Bob's vocals take which seem to annihilate time and space.... freeing language from its restraints of meaning and context to become just another layer of the music itself. Oh, its a wonderful performance overall.
