Toad's Place Vol. 1
Toad's Place New Haven, CT January 12, 1990
Bob's Boots Review: Fairly good quality on this impressive two CD set.... but the less than perfect sound quality can be forgiven somewhat when one looks over the set list. This represents a little over half of the remarkable, and historic Toad's Place show.

All Along The Roseland
Roseland New York, NY October 20, 1994
Bob's Boots Review: This is a great CD from a great show. The final night of the three night Roseland residency proves to be the best. The performance is both beautiful and powerful. The vocals are crisp and out front. The music is tight and well balanced. The final track includes Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen.

Soul
Tempodrom Berlin, Germany, June 17, 1996
Bob's Boots Review: This show is a real standout. Perhaps the very best of 1996. "Soul" is an appropriate description of the mood of this disc. The performances are exceptional, with surprising arrangements and beautiful vocals. So much more soulful than any other performance from '96 (or any other year for that matter). It's difficult to pick highlights from this set, since every song is a highlight. The recording is warm, and yet clear and defined. It all adds up to an astounding CD.

Bob's Boots Review: Fantastic performance of an extraordinary set list. This is an audience recording, and not quite as close to the mains as one would hope. Sometimes the vocals get a little buried. However, the recording is crisp and a pleasure to listen to. Just like being at the show. The material definitely warrants owning this one. I don't want to write a description on every song, but there is a very special version of All Along The Watchtower, which is slowed down a bit, and includes a harp solo! Something I never heard before on a boot.

F*** the Play List!
Brixton, March 30, 1995
Bob's Boots Review: A classy looking package of an incredible sounding concert. Recorded on digital tape, this is a straight DDD transfer. Vocals are upfront and crystal clear. Performance is very good. The show is not quite as good on the filler material from the previous night, but again, it's from a digital recording, and sharp and clear sounding. This March 30 show is a slightly better performance than the one from the following night. Indeed, it ranks among the best of the tour.

Acoustic Compilation 1999
This is an amazing and essential compilation which includes one version of every song performed in Dylan's acoustic sets in 1997. Incredible! 1999 was one of Dylan's best years, especially on acoustics. Everything sounds great; the quality is terrific.

Completely Unplugged
MTV Unplugged sessions
Bob's Boots Review: Two days in November 1994 found Dylan and the band in New York City in rare form. The pressure and excitement was on as the taping began for what would be yet another milestone for the maestro. This two CD set captures the raw, unedited shows right off of the mix board. The sound quality aproaches that of the official release. AFTER you purchase the official issue, indulge in this wonderful, complete compilation and hear the shows as they were played. This is not a substitute for the official release. It's a companion volume.

California Or Bust
Pauley Pavilion, LA, CA May 21, 1998
Bob's Boots Review: The dates are out of order, and the songs within each show are out of order. However, it is masterfully spliced together to create an 'entire show'. Start to finish... it's just one unbelievable performance after another. Included is perhaps the most rocking versions of Cold Irons Bound and Silvio that you may ever hear alongside beautifully warm versions of Just Like A Woman, Make You Feel My Love, and Mr Tambourine Man. Highway 61 Revisited is played as if Dylan's and his Band's life depended on it. Bob dedicates Restless Farewell to Frank Sinatra and played it to perfection. The two cover songs Rank Strangers by Albert E Brumley, and I'm Not Supposed To Care written by Gordon Lightfoot, deserve a nod as well. All of these songs are fantastic, but the piece de resistance is an electric version of If You See Her Say Hello it's like sex for the ears! The package itself is simple, yet nice enough, with some cool pics and a cartoon tray liner. Inside you will find all of the relevant information. The front cover could of had a picture of Dylan, but don't let that steer you away from this incredible piece.
Highly recommended.
